Sustainability 2020: Sustainable development in the UK in 2020
BIS Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET
The UK has committed to a range of sustainable development goals. These include the Millennium Development Goals due to end in 2015 and the new Europe 2020 targets. This year’s Sustainable Development Research Network conference will look at the progress and challenges of meeting these goals and explores whether the right tools, research programmes, policies and approaches are available and put into place.
At the session on Reconciling sustainable development with economic growth?, Tim Jackson covers questions about the structure of financial markets, the role of community-scale investment, the nature of economic activity and the role of different ownership structures in a green economy.

The Sustainable Development Research Network (SDRN) is an initiative funded by Defra and coordinated by the Policy Studies Institute in London. It aims to facilitate and strengthen the links between policy-makers and researchers and to highlight the contribution of research to future policy development.
